This is a recent
introduced work days. This is to encourage more locals, to step forward, to come and see and to join this
industry. Part-time, PT, duty has been introduced to allow more locals,
homemakers and SPR to come on board to increase the pool of local workforce in this public service transport industry.
Currently
my employer has this PT scheme for Weekdays peak (AM/ PM) period. For this scheme, I
can choose if I want to work for AM peak hours or PM peak hours. However, I
need to commit and sign-on, myself from Monday to Friday, for 5 hours a day
(not exceeding 35 hours a week). Any over-time, OT, due for a particular work
day, because of operational need, I will be paid with a OT rate of 1.5x as
well.
For
this PT scheme, the remuneration package is as below:
Basic:
$8.50 per hour
Service
Quality Incentive, SQI: ~$3.85+/- per day
Safety
Driving Incentive, SDI: ~$5.00+/- per day
Productivity

or MCs: ~$75.00 per month
*Medical

eligible for AWS and Variable Bonuses,
But employer’s CPF contribution is a definite lah
According
to an AM-PT colleague, a homemaker, that I met while taking the same worker’s
transport bus to the depot in Woodlands; she is enjoying this PT scheme with a
take home monthly income of about sgd1100/- net, i.e. after CPF deduction.
The
most important take away for her is that, after the end-duty at around 1100hr
each day; she still has ample time to prepare food for the family.
Moreover, on every weekend, she is able to enjoy quality family time with her
hubby and children, Ya!
I,
Hope the above material information helps; and if the readers (both locals and
SPR), wish to come forward to “contribute your time and effort”;
for our National Economic Defence, then , may I ask you, why not:
If not me, Who
If not now, When
To me, this PT scheme will be an option for me to consider for
my coming post-retirement occupation in 2years time.
